The work of RE Levine focuses on ink, graphite, colored pencil,
or oil pastel marks on hand made papers or slated masonite. The process of marking and erasing
of layering marks creates images. The paper artworks require close observation-the subtle
variations and persistence of mark-making tell the story. "Art is memory, and the making
of art the means by which the past is erased or retained."
