W3XK
Experimental work by Gallery Artists.

Explosions, a selection of computer generated prints, animations and assemblages by Brian Judy looks at the cultural fascination with representations of power and chaos. Utilizing rendering software often used in video game and action film special effects the artist creates imaginary instances of destruction. Brian Judy, artist and programmer, works primarily with the digital computer. Formerly a computer game industry specialist, Mr. Judy now makes art projects hosted on his website boogaholler.com

Robin Bray's Emergents, "Dark Side of the Mirror", are assemblages within freestanding box formats that evoke emotion, aura and ultimately story. As a starting point Bray spins words from west coast writer Vera Caccioppoli into images using shadow, and color. The emergent in "He'd Been Watching Her for Three Seasons", captures a sense of observing while not being observed and the loneliness and isolation of time passing.

W3XK celebrates the 75th anniversary of the first licensed TV broadcast by pioneer inventor Dr. Charles Francis Jenkins on July 3, 1928 at 1519 Connecticut Ave., the location of Gallery 10 since 1974. The entry gallery showcases the explosion of a virtual TV by Brian Judy, and an emergent assemblage by Robin Bray using images of Dr. Jenkins along with notes he received from listeners. W3XK continues in the Inner Space project room with presentations by gallery artists.
