Click for a larger version. Since 1993, Judith Richelieu has created sculptural tributes to women artists and writers. As part of this series, titled "Elegy" she has also painted a small acrylic portrait of each woman. Barbara Hepworth, Virginia Woolf, Eva Hesse, Mary Cassatt, and Sylvia Plath are among the 25 women featured in "Elegy." The artist's recent carved wood saints accompany the painted portraits.
